I’m back! I took a bit of a break from blogging to focus on exams and learning how to become a functioning member of society again. And now, I am officially a third year medical student! Though I don’t have any more formal lectures in a classroom, I still get to hear ridiculous things from doctors, nurses, residents, patients and anyone in between. If you are within 10 feet from me, chances are that I am listening to whatever ridiculous thing you are saying.
As my first week of rotations comes to an end, I wanted to recap my time with some of the things I heard in the halls of the hospital. So, without any more stalling, here is TIHIMS: VOL 21! Continue reading
Oh hey! I know, I know. I’ve been gone for a few weeks. Medical school and FINALLY BEING ABLE TO SLEEP can do that to you. But I am back in America (dang y’all, a lot has changed since I left), and that means I have to learn how to assimilate back into the real world. Before I have to enter the outside world, I wanted to reflect on the past year and share some of the “things 2017 gave to me.” You know, like that cheesy Christmas song with five golden rings and french hens and something about something in a tree? Okay never mind, just continue reading.
As some of us finish off our last lab for Term 5 (I know half of y’all didn’t come — I’m judging you), I wanted to gift you all with the last installment of Things I Heard in Medical School! It was a fun run, this series. Here’s to hoping that clinical years has just as much nonsense as these 2.5 years of basic sciences did! So, until next time, did I catch you saying something ridiculous? Hope you enjoy!
I should be paying attention to pharmacology right now but….. here’s the 19th edition of Things I Heard in Medical School! Featuring, some of the last quotes from Term 4 — I know, I know. Term 4? I’ve had a lot going on. Like trying to pass Term 5 and trying not to kill the people around me. Did I catch you saying something ridiculous? Let me know! Continue reading
Term 4 left me really salty. Term 5 is only adding to this. Take a break from ICM by reading this volume of Front Row Views, where I let my personality shine bright like a diamond.
I should be paying attention to pathophysiology right now, but I’m not. Sorry mom. While I’m starting to collect quotes for Term 5, I still have some silly things people said back in Term 4 for y’all to enjoy. Did I catch you saying something crazy? Let me know!
Before I start off my final term of basic sciences, I wanted to share some of the funny thing I heard during the Hyperbaric Medicine Selective I did! Which by the way — is AMAZING! If you have questions, let me know! Here are some of the ridiculous things I heard over the last week.
Last summer my parents and I visited Denver, Colorado for a Sleep Medicine meeting (yes, that is a thing) . While it was pretty dope (punny, I know) to walk around the city, we wanted to see the scenic aspect of this lovely state. So we booked a whole day bus tour and set off on our Rocky Mountain Adventure! All photos are unedited (#nofilter) and were taken on a Nikon D5200. Here’s part one of our trip — to see more photos from the trip, or of my photography in general, follow my photography Instagram! Part two coming soon! Continue reading
I’m a second-year medical student at St. George’s University in Grenada. If you are also a medical student or in a similar, grueling field, you can probably relate. I’m mainly writing this as a way to vent and get out all of this anxiety. But also because I know there are others in my class, and in the world in general, who feel the same way. If you know me, you know I hate crying and hate being weak. Well, today will be that exception. Today, I need to open up so I can move on. Feel free to share this post with anyone who needs a reality check or just needs some reassurance that this too shall pass. Continue reading
I know, I know. I have no excuses this time for the delay in posts. Other than the fact that I FINALLY CAME BACK TO AMERICA AND NEEDED FAST FOOD AND STARBUCKS AND UGH. Okay. Enjoy Volume 16 of Things I Heard in Medical School! Did I catch you saying something ridiculous? Let me know!
