As some of us finish off our last lab for Term 5 (I know half of y’all didn’t come — I’m judging you), I wanted to gift you all with the last installment of Things I Heard in Medical School! It was a fun run, this series. Here’s to hoping that clinical years has just as much nonsense as these 2.5 years of basic sciences did! So, until next time, did I catch you saying something ridiculous? Hope you enjoy!

Front Row Views: Volume 7
Term 4 left me really salty. Term 5 is only adding to this. Take a break from ICM by reading this volume of Front Row Views, where I let my personality shine bright like a diamond.
An open letter to myself: Slow down and breathe.
I’m a second-year medical student at St. George’s University in Grenada. If you are also a medical student or in a similar, grueling field, you can probably relate. I’m mainly writing this as a way to vent and get out all of this anxiety. But also because I know there are others in my class, and in the world in general, who feel the same way. If you know me, you know I hate crying and hate being weak. Well, today will be that exception. Today, I need to open up so I can move on. Feel free to share this post with anyone who needs a reality check or just needs some reassurance that this too shall pass. Continue reading
Things I Heard in Medical School: Volume 14
I’m bored. And I know you are too. So let’s just jump right into the 14th installation of Things I Heard in Medical School. Did I catch you saying something ridiculous? Let me know!

Things I Heard in Medical School: Volume 12
We just got out of an exam. Why are we class? WHAT IS THIS?! Let’s ignore pathology and get a kick out of the final things we heard in Term 3. A lot of these are NSFMM (not safe for my mom. So please, mom, stop reading now. I didn’t say this stuff, I swear). Can you recognize these lovely quotes? Let me know!
Front Row Views: Volume 2
Y’all probably thought this blog died. It didn’t. I just decided to spend my break binging on cake and Netflix. I am not ashamed. But now that I am back, so are the posts! So to kick off 2017 I bring you Front Row Views, where I tell you what I see and hear in medical school, but with my own snarky and heavily-laced-in-sarcasm commentary. I swear I was listening to the actual lecture, but this stuff was just way more interesting. Sorry mom.
Front Row Views: Volume 1
Welcome to my new series, Front Row Views. When I’m not paying attention in class (which is quite often… sorry mom and dad), I tend to notice really random things happening around me. Tie that in with my overly sarcastic and unfiltered personality and you get a somewhat funny post (I think). And since this first post happens to be on a Thursday, I decided to include some from my college days (#throwbackThursday anyone?)
Let me know what you all think!
Things I Heard in Medical School: Volume 7
We made it passed bioethics and CPM! Now on to the real stuff. But before we dive too deep into our doom, let’s take a trip back and reminisce about some of the funny things we heard in the last two weeks! Continue reading
Six signs for a perfect best friend
Friends are hard to come by. And best friends — dude, those are rare. So once you find one, you better not do anything stupid to make them run away.
Five things to do before graduation
Today marks my last “last day of classes,” or LDOC, at UNC Chapel Hill. Over the past four years here, I’ve pretty much kept my head in the books and slaved away in the library. But now with two week left before graduation, I’m going to try and do some fun things before I head off in to the scary place that is the real world. Continue reading
