I know I disappeared after starting this new series, but I had a valid reason, I swear. Residency is… a lot. Especially if you are surrounded by the fools I am with! So far I’ve been popping joints back into place in the Emergency Department and trying to figure out the insulin sliding scale over on inpatient medicine. And of course, you can’t forget outpatient clinic. So here’s some quotes that I’ve picked up along the way!
I just finished my second week of residency! Well, the second week of orientation. And let me tell you, I am way more disoriented than ever. But I’m happy because I am at my absolute dream program! I am blessed to have matched at my top choice for family medicine. And I am even more blessed to be with the class that I am with! Not only are they so kind, funny and caring, but they are also providing me with great content to write about. All have been warned — so I bring to you: Things I Heard in Residency: Volume 1.

You know how I said that I was going to post more and keep this blog up-to-date? HA y’all should know better than to trust me on that. Since I’ve been gone, I have completed my OBGYN, Pediatrics and Surgery rotations! And all I have left is Internal Medicine. Wow, time flies when you are stressed out and procrastinate. To make it up to y’all, here are some things I heard during my OBGYN rotation!
I’m halfway through family medicine! Although I am learning a lot about the field, I’m also learning a lot from my patients. And by learning, I mean listening to them say or do the most ridiculous things. And the attendings and residents aren’t that far behind either.
